The defender joined his team-mates after missing Saturday’s win over Norwich with flu, but Phil Jones was not present ahead of the crucial second leg against los Blancos
Rio Ferdinand has trained with Manchester United ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 clash with Real Madrid, but Phil Jones missed out and Jonny Evans could only manage light jogging.
Ferdinand sat out Saturday’s 4-0 win against Norwich with flu, but joined his team-mates at Carrington on Monday morning.
But Jones, who limped out of the FA Cup win over Reading in February with an ankle injury, did not appear for the club’s open session, which was attended by the media as well as members of the Glazer family which owns the club.
Evans, meanwhile, trained away from the main group and instead concentrated on light exercises. There will be a further session behind closed doors later on Monday.
All three players started in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu but Nemanja Vidic should be available for the return fixture after completing 90 minutes against Norwich, although he continues to manage a knee problem.
Anderson featured alongside Michael Carrick in midfield at the weekend in place of Jones, and Tom Cleverley is also in contention for a place in the starting XI.
