The France coach is happy with the 19-year-old’s development and believes he has a lot of potential after a bright start at Old Trafford
Anthony Martial is capable of even more than he has shown at Manchester United this season, according to Didier Deschamps.
The 19-year-old has scored three goals in four Premier League matches this season – finding the net with 50 per cent of the shots he has hit for United since joining from Monaco in the summer.
While coach Louis van Gaal admits there has been some luck involved in the striker’s bright start, Deschamps, who has called him up to the France squad for their upcoming friendlies, is confident that Martial has immense potential.
“He is with us because I think he has a very interesting potential,” he told reporters.
“He is not a very big character. That shyness does not bother me when it comes to young players who arrive as part of the selection.
“He still has steps to take in his development. It changed his world moving to Manchester United this summer.”
