The England international has been out for three weeks with a knee injury but is likely to feature against Louis van Gaal’s side for the Goodison Park outfit
Everton have been handed a boost ahead of their clash with Manchester United after Roberto Martinez confirmed John Stones is set to return against the Red Devils.
The England international missed the Toffees’ games against West Brom and Liverpool as well as the Three Lions’ final two Euro 2016 qualifiers with a knee injury.
But Martinez is hopeful the former Barnsley man will line-up against Louis van Gaal’s side on Saturday after scoring his first goal for the club against the Old Trafford outfit last term.
“We have still got very three important days ahead of that fixture in terms of preparation so we’ll get a better idea on Friday of where John is,” he told the club’s official website.
“I would say medically he is ready now. He’s been joining the group and from a medical point of view I don’t think there is a concern or worry.”
Seamus Coleman is also set to return having played for the Republic of Ireland against Poland on Sunday, but Leighton Baines, Tom Cleverley and Steven Pienaar remain on the sidelines.
