When we asked Diego at a club Academy event in Hong Kong for one player to look out for in 2023/24, he replied: “Well, I know Pellistri. I was his manager at Penarol, when he was playing there, then he left for United. So of course, you’re aware [of him] and we want him to get more minutes.

“We know it’s not easy. It’s difficult. But he’s a really good player and a nice guy. 

“He scored a goal in the last game [of pre-season] and hopefully he can get more minutes at United.”
