Premier League Transfer Rumours: Lorenzo Pellegrini, Ben Foster, Robert Snodgrass & More

The transfer market is quickly hotting up, as clubs look to do business as quickly as possible before bringing their squads in for pre-season training in the next week or two.

There is plenty of news flying around in the Premier League, with several clubs looking to undergo mini overhauls as they prepare for the 2018-19 campaign.

Below is a look at some of the latest stories coming out of the transfer rumour mill.

7. West Brom to Swoop for Lower League Goalkeeper

West Brom could move for Northampton Town goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell.

According to the Express and Star, the Baggies view the Northampton stopper as the perfect replacement for the outgoing Boaz Myhill, who is leaving The Hawthorns upon the expiry of his contract this summer.

The 29-year-old is familiar to the West Midlands, having spent time with Walsall earlier in his career.

The Baggies could be on the lookout for two goalkeepers this summer though, with former England international Ben Foster set to move on to pastures new.

6. Former England Stopper Ben Foster Being Considered by Watford

Linking nicely with the previous item, Watford are preparing a £10m move for the aforementioned Ben Foster.

The north London club are serious about their interest in Foster, and the former England man could be keen to join his former club – having spent two loan spells there between 2005 and 2007.

This is according to the Sun, who also add that Watford want to sell Costel Pantillimon to Nottingham Forest or Aston Villa in order to accommodate Foster.

Foster is said to have been considered by Manchester United and Manchester City as a potential backup option, but he wants to play every week

5. Southampton Set to Unveil Signing of Celtic Midfielder This Week

Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong is set to complete a move to Southampton later this week.

The 26-year-old is currently on the south coast of England to undergo his medical at Southampton, according to the Daily Record.

With terms having been agreed between the two clubs over the weekend, Armstrong will move to the Premier League in a deal worth £7m, plus future add-ons.

Armstrong is expected to be officially unveiled as a Southampton player as early as Wednesday.

4. Robert Snodgrass Linked With Move to Premier League New Boys

West Ham winger Robert Snodgrass has been linked with a move to newly-promoted Cardiff City.

Wales Online report that the former Hull City man is one of a number of targets for Neil Warnock’s side, with Josh Windass and Marko Grujic also on the Bluebirds’ radar.

Josh Murphy and Greg Cunningham are the two players who have joined the Welsh club so far, with several more arrivals expected before the end of the transfer window in August. 

3. Everton & Leicester Battling it Out for Ligue 1 Left Back

Everton and Leicester  have both ‘made offers’ for Montpellier left back Jérôme Roussillon

According to Paris United (via Get French Football News), the defender is said to be keen on playing European football, but a move to the Premier League could also prove to be a big pull for the 25-year-old.

Monaco, Fenerbahce and Sevilla are also interested in the full back, who has been capped by France at Under-18 and Under-20 levels.

The news would make sense for Everton, following recent reports that Leighton Baines is keen on a move to the the United States to play for an MLS club.

2. Man City & Juventus Set to Battle for Australian World Cup Youngster

Manchester City have been linked with a move for Australia wonderkid Daniel Arzani.

At 19 years of age, the Melbourne City starlet is currently the youngest player at the World Cup and has attracted plenty of interest as a result.

According to Fox Sports, City would loan him to Dutch outfit NAC Breda, one of their partner clubs.

Juventus are also said to be monitoring the youngster. Bayer Leverkusen, Slavia Prague, AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven have also been linked.

1. Manchester United Line Up In-Form Roma Midfielder

Manchester United are looking at Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini as a potential alternative to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Having baulked at Milinkovic-Savic’s hefty price tag, Manchester Evening News report that the club have now turned their attention to the 22-year-old Roma star.

Mourinho has already spent £53m on the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred this summer, and is seemingly being cautious with the remainder of his transfer budget as he looks to improve his squad at Old Trafford.

The Italian defensive midfielder impressed last season as he made 43 appearances across all competitions for Roma, including four appearances in the Champions League.
