Falcao will join the best, but Madrid have Benzema – Mendes

The Portuguese agent has suggested the Colombia international will be on the move again this summer but that a move to the Bernabeau looks unlikely

Jorge Mendes says Falcao’s next club will be one of the seven best in the world – but not Real Madrid.

The Colombia international joined Manchester United on loan from Monaco this past summer, but has started just eight of the club’s 22 Premier League matches this season.

And ‘Super Agent’ Mendes has expressed his disappointment at coach Louis Van Gaal’s reluctance to make the 28-year-old a vital part of his side, hinting that Falcao will likely be on the move again when his loan deal expires in June.

“I would have liked it if Falcao was with [former Man Utd manager] Sir Alex Ferguson,” Mendes told La Sexta.

“He is a player to play 90 minutes and I don’t understand [why he isn’t]. Falcao will play for one of the seven best in the world next, but Real Madrid has Benzema.”

Madrid were interested in Falcao prior to his reported €60 million move to Monaco in the summer of 2013, but city rivals Atletico were reluctant to do business.

Mendes also said he expects Portugal international Pepe to remain with Madrid through next season.

“Pepe will have much more time in Madrid,” Mendes said, “Because last year the president had the chance to sell [him to Manchester City] and did not.”
