Robin van Persie has been forced out of Manchester United’s clash with QPR due to a back injury.

After colliding with a camera bunker at the side of the Loftus Road pitch, the Dutchman jogged off in the 41st minute and was replaced by Danny Welbeck.

The Red Devils were a goal to the good at the time of Van Persie’s withdrawal thanks to Rafael da Silva’s thunderbolt from the edge of the area.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is currently sweating on the fitness of Phil Jones ahead of their Champions League last 16 second-leg clash with Real Madrid.
