Zaha focused on Palace promotion push despite Man United summer move

Wilfried Zaha insists he remains focused on winning promotion to the Premier League with Crystal Palace this season, despite his impending move to Manchester United at the end of the season.

The Red Devils agreed a £17 million deal to sign the England international last week, before immediately loaning Zaha back to the Eagles for the rest of their Championship campaign.

While the 20-year-old, who has scored five goals in 31 appearances for Palace so far this year, admits it’s a dream come true to be joining the Premier League leaders, he is determined to ensure the Selhurst Park crowd will be watching top flight football next season before making the permanent move to Old Trafford in the summer.

“My dream was to play in the Premier League but I never thought I’d be signing for one of the top four teams,” Zaha told reporters.

“(But) I didn’t like the speculation and I just wanted it over with. Not knowing what’s happening is not really the best thing. I just wanted to get back to playing football.

He continued: “I’m glad I’m back on loan as I didn’t want to leave the job unfinished. Being with the team is like a family.

“I just want to get back to doing what I do best and get us back to the Prem.

“That’s what I’ve got my mind set on.”
