Premier League Treble: Wins for Manchester City and Stoke plus plenty of goals at Old Trafford

Stoke City

VS

Southampton

Stoke City are absolutely flying at the moment, and their 3-1 win over Liverpool on Boxing day merely added some extra shine to an unbeaten streak that stretches back nine games.

The Potters are imperious at home, and they have now gone 16 games without tasting defeat at the Britannia Stadium.

The hosts should have no trouble in sweeping aside a Southampton side who have lost six of their last eight on the road, and have just one victory to their name in the previous five games.

Tony Pulis’ men have the best defensive record in the league, so should be able to keep a visiting attack at bay that has scored just three times in the last five matches.

All in all, a solid home victory looks inevitable here, and is not to be missed at generous 4/5 (1.80) odds with Bet365.

Manchester United

VS

West Bromwich Albion

Two things are usually guaranteed with Premier League games at Old Trafford: first of all, Manchester United will win, and secondly, there will be plenty of entertainment.

There have been 39 goals scored in United’s nine home matches so far this season, and Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have won eight of those nine encounters.

While visitors West Brom have been extremely organised on their own turf, they have tended to throw caution to the wind away from the Hawthorns, and that approach should make for plenty of goalmouth action in this one.

A bet on over 2.5 goals to be scored would have paid out in eight of the hosts’ nine home games this season, as well as five of the last six on the road for Steve Clarke’s men.

Eight of the last nine meetings between these sides have also exceeded that goal tally, so odds of 1/2 (1.50) seem safe on over 2.5 goals going in on Saturday.

Norwich City

VS

Manchester City

After slipping seven points behind leaders Manchester United thanks to a 1-0 defeat against Sunderland in their last match, Manchester City will be desperate to get back to winning ways when they travel to Norwich.

Roberto Mancini’s men have an excellent record against The Canaries, having won their last two encounters by an aggregate score-line of 11-2, so will be confident of bouncing back with a win at Carrow Road.

Chris Hughton has done a fantastic job since taking over from Paul Lambert in the summer, and his side’s 10-game unbeaten streak between October and December escaped nobody’s attention.

However, that run was ended emphatically 4-1 by Aston Villa a few weeks ago, and they have lost two of the last three matches since then.

Expect the visitors to prove that there is nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal by collecting a crucial win here, available at odds of 8/15 (1.53).
