Ten Hag’s view on the end of replays

“It’s very sad for the British football culture, but also I think it was inevitable,” said Ten Hag.

“No-one can do anything for it, it’s due to the overload in the schedule, and that’s dictated by FIFA, UEFA, and also England is part of UEFA.

“We are a big competition, we have a big influence and a big impact on FIFA and UEFA, but there are so many other countries and they are making the football schedule.

“You see there is so much overload on the players. We talk [about] this issue so often and it has to stop somewhere.

“As I said, I feel really sorry, really sad for the clubs in English football, but for top players, this is a measure of what can make some space in the schedule.”

Antony’s promise to United fans

Now, the Brazilian is looking ahead to the cup semi-final against Coventry City, at Wembley.

Antony knows the importance of the occasion, having played in two of our three visits to the national stadium last season, and isn’t taking the opposition for granted as we seek to reach a second consecutive final.

“Playing in a semi-final in such a historic stadium is really important,” he said.

“Even though they are in the Championship, we have to respect them as they didn’t reach an FA Cup semi-final by chance.

“I’m looking forward to the game and how good it will be, we’ll study the opposition to be prepared to meet our objective.
