Gareth Bale Betting Special: Madrid a likely destination

The winger’s brilliant recent form has reignited speculation about his future and Willie Duncan believes that the Tottenham star will choose Spain as his next destination

With nine goals in his last seven matches for club and country, there is no doubt that Gareth Bale is one of the hottest properties in world football at the moment.

There is expected to be a number of clubs vying for the signature of the Tottenham man when the 23-year-old decides to call time on his Spurs career.

It is, therefore, unsurprising that Bet Victor have opened a book on which club Bale will choose to join on his departure from White Hart Lane, either this summer, or in the future.

At the head of the queue, and Paddy Power’s market, is Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have endured a disappointing campaign by their high standards and may feel that a marquee signing like Bale will improve their chances of domestic and European success next term.

The Spanish giants are reported to have been long-term admirers of Bale’s talents and the 2/1 (3.00) quote from Bet Victor for Madrid to get their man offers appeal here.

Manchester United, who will do battle with Real Madrid in the Champions League next week, look set to be the Spanish side’s main rivals in pursuit of Bale and are rated as 12/1 (13.00) shots with BetVictor to add the Welshman to their squad when he leaves Spurs.

The prospect of linking up with former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola may lead Bale to Bavaria – he is a 8/1 (7.0) chance with Bet Victor to sign for Bayern Munich – but that is unlikely to be enough to lure Bale to Germany, while the 14/1 (15.0) quote from the same firm for the Welshman to join Manchester City offers little appeal.

Even less likely is that he makes the move across London to join Chelsea – a move which is rated as a 33/1 (34.0) shot with Bet Victor.

Instead, Bale may feel that the Premier League has few fresh challenges to offer him, plus it seems unlikely Spurs would be willing to sell their star asset to another club vying for a top-four finish. Therefore, the 2/1 (3.00) for the Spurs star to swap north London for Madrid is the recommended selection here.
