BREAKING NEWS: Jones limps out of Everton clash with potential muscular injury

The England international could now be a doubt for Wednesday’s Champions League first leg tie against Real Madrid after he limped off the pitch to be replaced by Michael Carrick

Phil Jones may now be a doubt for Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday after the 20-year-old was substituted in the second half of their 2-0 win over Everton, looking to be suffering with a muscular injury.

The former Blackburn Rovers man was replaced after 57 minutes by Michael Carrick, having shown signs of a problem 10 minutes prior to half time and limping down the tunnel at the half way mark.

Jones had been a doubt before the game after suffering with shingles this week, but the midfielder appeared to have made a full recovery.

The England international has had a number of injury problems since joining Manchester United, including a back problem which ruled him out for the beginning of this season, not making a Premier League appearance until November 28.
