Chicharito: Manchester United want the treble

Manchester United striker Chicharito hopes to help the Red Devils repeat their historic treble of 1999 after they progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup by thrashing Fulham at Old Trafford.

The Mexico international netted two goals to seal Saturday’s 4-1 victory in a competition Sir Alex Ferguson’s team have not won since the 2003-04 season.

United face a Champions League last 16 tie against Real Madrid and sit in first place in the Premier League, and Chicharito insists the club are eyeing all three trophies.

“We want to win all three,” he told the Manchester Evening News. “We want to win the treble.

“It is in our minds. We need to think game by game, get the points in the league and get though in both cup competitions.”

Despite bagging another double, Chicharito is still searching for his first hat-trick as a United player but claims that team accolades are of more importance to him.

“I am always looking for the famous hat-trick,” he admitted. “But the most important thing for me right now is to win the treble.

“Next we have two games in the league. After that there is the international break, we play another league game and then Real Madrid, so the calendar is busy and we are looking forward to it.”
