Tottenham have announced that referee Chris Foy will conduct a pitch inspection at White Hart Lane ahead of their match against Manchester United on Sunday following heavy snowfall in London.
Chelsea’s fixture against Arsenal has kicked-off at Stamford Bridge despite the winter weather but the prolonged cold conditions have put the afternoon’s later Premier League contest in doubt.
Foy will make a final decision on the fate of the match at 14:50, 70 minutes before it is due to begin at 16:00.
“There will be a pitch inspection by the referee at 2:50pm,” Tottenham confirmed on their official Twitter account.
Foy and his team of officials had earlier examined the pitch and deferred their decision until closer to kick-off, but at that point the fixture was still set to go ahead.
The Met Office has forecast heavy snow and temperatures between -1°C and 0°C across London on Sunday afternoon.
